Life in Boxes

-->
8th July 2019

Life in boxes
one house to another
Life in boxes
One home to another

Some stuff were broken
Some things were abandoned
Somethings we acquired new
But I was me and you were you

Life in boxes
One house to another
Life in boxes
One home to another

Where are my books?
Where is that yellow pan?
My diary, my pen – there they are
But something’s missing, where you are?

This one thing is not here
This one thing is not found
This one thing, I need, I must,
This one thing got lost in the round

Life in boxes
one house to another
Life in boxes
One home to another

Where is that boo to my bibiddi bobidi?
Where is that thing that turns my key?
Where is that?
Where is that?

It’s in a box
Wrapped in bubble
Travelling the abyss of time
Time travellers. Ahoy!

Donno when I wrote this. 2013 or maybe 2014.

Tossed in space,
I travel
  orbiting around
      god knows what?
A sun,
  a planet,
    a satellite,
        or an asteroid?

Inconsequential,
      maybe a li'l consequential.

Who knows
    what's the conspiracy
or what do the elements intend?
Is there a way,
    a technique to know
      exactly where you're going?

Tell me.

Traversing spirits

15th April '2014

Traversing spirits sometimes reside in me

Bits of Conversations
In sentences, in words, in gestures, in meaning
Still remain in me.

How to forget?
How to remember?
How to? Exactly.

Let me love.
Oh! Love I do.
Oh! Let me love.
Love I do.
But then the spirits awaken.

A Wild Sheep Chase : A Review

3rd February '14

No sheep lives inside me. That is good in a way, I 'd guess. But I wonder how it feels to have someone in you.

This book is wonderfully Murakami, the way he always is. Writing about the strangest phenomena as the most ordinary and common place. Somehow his words end up transporting people to another world where strange rhythms become drones and  blend into the atmosphere.

Li'l red package

13 Aug '13

Chugging journey
Leaves behind smoke in a trail of small grey clouds
All aboard but my li'l red package left behind.

Oh my package
My li'l red.
Ur loss is wreckage
Oh lament.
My li'l's now dead
To me.

I can't see the green fields.
Oh!
I can't see the windmill.
Oh ho!
I can't see the birds on wire in a row.

My li'l's lost forever
To me.

It was packed in polka yellow
And smelled like a garden of roses.
White ribbons bow tied
Fell in twirled bunches.
So many li'l hearts
Pasted all over my li'l red.

Oh, my Red!
I miss you so
It wells me up.

These tracks go on for miles and more
These tracks go on for miles and more

I'll find another heart
Bind it with wind
Lace it with golden daffodils
Spray with sunset red.

Another red. Another day. Another life.
Look outside the window.

On my way

21st June '13

I’m stuck around the corner
so stuck I cannot move
a wedge is there
sharp and pointed and hurting

I’ll wear a gown of feathers blue and fly to you

all the soothing soothe
in the brooding mood
down down down
underwater

I’ll wrap a saree of scales green and swim to you

let the wind blow
let the storms wail
I’ll journey still
godspeed

I”ll grow a cloak of mane chestnut-brown and gallop to you with wind in my hair

Lost Kite

31st May '13

Just feel so lost somedays
Like I belong nowhere
Not even to myself

Like I’m a drifting kite
With cut strings
Trying to merge myself
Match my colour
To the terrains
I drift over

When the wind doesn’t blow
I seek a cote in corners
On treetops,
And tangles of the city wires

I get wet in rain
I get torn
I get patches of dirt

I’m a drifter
Of the sky
I’m a piece of paper
From the tree

I’m a wanderer
Who got lost

And then died.

McCleodganj

May '2013

Looking for myself in the hills
in little cafes, colourful bazaars
and in the wind that tousled my hair.

Found a glimpse in the prayer wheels
a little reflection in the topaze of a pendant.

The prayer flags fluttered in the wind
told me I was everywhere that I smiled.

Really!
how to be complete?
  maybe I'll never be complete..
  maybe we'll never be complete..
it's a loss we'll just have to bear..
how to bear the loss?
   it's too much a burden..
we have to let it drop..
But how?

Kashmir

23rd June '12

To calm
To serene
To the stopping of time..

To laughter 'n' oddness
comfortable, yet not totally there yet..
the journey's begun
will see the end of it too..

To chaos
that erupted from within
the one that's not stilled yet.

moving forward

Rishikesh musings - 1

2nd November '11

Met Blanche, the 'je suis Shweta'.
Whose more vegetarian than anyone, I know, and more yogically spiritual than I'll ever be. It feels strange to see so many foreigners in a desi garb, who seem to have such great insight into our country's ethos. An insight which we refuse to even acknowledge.

What is it that they find here, in benaras and dwell here for weeks, months when we will dismiss these places in a day?

What is it that we, they, all of us really go looking for when we go to a new place?

Mid-Autumn Festivities

19th September '05

A lonely planet rotated...
revoluted and rotated
...round and round
in the ellipse of the elliptical orbit....

Which galaxy?, which solar system?....
not even the star it went around did it know...
...it just spun in the cosmic
...the motion, just a motion....

No asteroids came its way..
not even meteroids...
if they did....
it gently smiled them away..
with grace just stepped aside...
and next with a sombre turn,
in motion again...............

It had a knight in shining armour once..
an angel... in disguise besotted..
like mates, like inseparable pairs...
they'd done the dance in space...
with swirls and whirls..
and crazy turns....
....the motion, a merry motion...

Some forces unknown....
some out of control balances...
catapulted the moon away...
away to an unknown planet..
it neither knew nor loved.....

The dislocated planet is still in motion...
while its waters, and streams,
oceans and seas..
..just go haywire...

And somewhere far off....
they eat the moon...
with festivities......
.. A mid Autumn Occasion
...for festivities.
